New ventilation method aims to shield heart in severe pneumonia

Summary
This study tests a new way to use a breathing machine to protect the right side of the heart in patients with severe pneumonia and lung injury. About 180 adults will be assigned to either the new method or the standard one. The goal is to see if the new approach reduces heart complications like enlargement or failure.
