Gentler breathing during surgery: a new hope for cancer recovery?

NCT ID NCT06230965

Summary

This study looked at whether using a gentler method to help patients breathe during colorectal cancer surgery could affect inflammation around the tumor and improve recovery. It involved 60 patients, comparing the standard breathing support to a more protective method. Researchers measured blood markers and tracked patients' recovery and quality of life for a year after surgery to see if the gentler approach made a difference.
