Could a simple ultrasound replace CT scans for COVID pneumonia?
NCT ID NCT05279378
Summary
This study aimed to see if lung ultrasound, a quicker and more accessible tool, could provide similar information to CT scans for diagnosing COVID-19 pneumonia in cancer patients. Researchers observed 30 hospitalized cancer patients with confirmed COVID-19, comparing images from both tests. The goal was to understand if ultrasound could be a reliable alternative, especially for patients who are difficult to move for a CT scan.
