New ultrasound method could simplify critical surgery safety check

NCT ID NCT07465510

Summary

This study aims to see if a quick, bedside ultrasound scan of the lungs can accurately confirm the correct placement of a special breathing tube used during chest surgery. Researchers will compare the ultrasound method against the current standard procedure (a camera scope) and the traditional listening method in 100 patients. The goal is to determine if ultrasound could be a faster, more accessible alternative for ensuring patient safety during these operations.
