First seen Feb 06, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looked at 165 patients in the intensive care unit after major abdominal or urinary surgery. Doctors used lung ultrasound to measure fluid in the lungs, along with heart ultrasound, to see if it could predict who would develop severe breathing problems. The goal was to find a simple bedside test to identify high-risk patients early.
