Doctors test new breathing machine setting to keep lungs open after surgery

NCT ID NCT07186920

Summary

This study compared two different ways to run the breathing machine during surgery to see which one better prevents the lungs from collapsing afterward. Researchers used lung ultrasound scans on 70 adult patients right after their operations to measure lung collapse. They also tracked hospital stay, need for intensive care, and survival rates to see if one method led to better overall recovery.
