Doctors test quicker, safer way to spot misplaced breathing tubes in kids

NCT ID NCT02822846

Summary

This study tested whether using a lung ultrasound machine could be as good as a chest X-ray at checking if a breathing tube is in the right place in children. The goal was to find a faster, bedside method that avoids radiation. Researchers compared ultrasound results from two doctors to the standard X-ray in 79 children under 18 who were on a ventilator.
