Faster lung scan tested in ICU: can 6 spots match 12?

NCT ID NCT07446803

Summary

This study aims to see if a shorter, 6-point lung ultrasound gives doctors the same useful information as a longer, 12-point scan for patients in intensive care with severe breathing problems. Researchers will compare the two scanning methods in 20 patients to check if the shorter scan is just as good at predicting a patient's need for a breathing machine or risk of death. The goal is to find a faster way to assess lung damage without losing accuracy, which could help busy ICU teams.
