Inhaled therapy tested to halt lung transplant failure
NCT ID NCT03657342
Summary
This study tested whether adding an inhaled form of the drug cyclosporine (L-CsA) to standard care could better treat chronic rejection in single lung transplant patients. 62 adults who had received a transplant at least a year prior and were experiencing declining lung function participated. For 48 weeks, one group used the inhaled medication twice daily along with their standard drugs, while the other group continued with standard care alone.
