New 'Breathing' strategy aims to get lung transplant patients off ventilators faster
NCT ID NCT07384546
Summary
This study is testing whether a new anesthesia and surgery approach can help adults recover faster after a lung transplant. The strategy aims to keep patients breathing on their own as much as possible during and after the operation, avoiding a breathing tube and heavy sedation. About 110 participants at several hospitals in China will receive this approach, and researchers will measure if it shortens hospital stays and reduces the need for breathing machines while remaining safe.
