Study finds safer hookwire technique for lung nodule surgery
NCT ID NCT07300072
Summary
This study looked back at medical records to see if a modified hookwire technique was safe for marking lung nodules before surgery. Researchers analyzed data from over 1,000 patients to compare the risk of a collapsed lung (pneumothorax) between the modified hookwire and a dye-only method. They found the specialized hookwire technique did not increase the risk of this complication.
