First seen Apr 18, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests a surgical procedure for people with severe emphysema or COPD who did not get better after a less invasive lung volume reduction treatment. The surgery aims to complete the natural separations between lung lobes and remove scar tissue to improve breathing. About 20 participants will be enrolled to see if the procedure is safe and can reduce lung volume by at least 350 mL.
