New combo therapy aims to keep advanced lung cancer at bay

NCT ID NCT06810609

Summary

This study is testing a two-part treatment for stage III non-small cell lung cancer that can potentially be removed with surgery. First, patients receive a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Then, they are randomly assigned to either have surgery or receive chemoradiation (chemotherapy plus radiation). All patients then continue with a year of immunotherapy (durvalumab) to try to control the cancer and prevent it from coming back. The main goal is to see which treatment path keeps patients cancer-free for longer.
