New hope for seniors: major trial tests powerful combo against deadly lung cancer

Summary
This study is testing whether adding the immunotherapy drug atezolizumab to standard chemotherapy helps older adults (aged 70-89) with advanced non-small cell lung cancer live longer. It aims to see if this combination is as effective and safe for this older age group as it has been for younger patients. About 510 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either the combination or chemotherapy alone.
