Summary

This study is testing if adding an immunotherapy drug (nivolumab) to standard chemotherapy, both before and after surgery, is better at preventing cancer from returning in people with early-stage, operable lung cancer. About 461 participants with stage II or III non-small cell lung cancer were randomly assigned to receive either the real immunotherapy drug or a placebo (dummy drug) alongside their chemo. The main goal is to see if this combined approach helps people live longer without their cancer getting worse or coming back after surgery.
