Could a common antibiotic boost cancer treatment?

NCT ID NCT03546829

Summary

This study is testing the safety of adding an antibiotic called vancomycin to targeted radiation therapy for people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer. The cancer must have spread to only a few new spots after initial treatment. Researchers want to see if changing gut bacteria with the antibiotic makes the radiation work better against the cancer while monitoring for side effects like severe diarrhea.
