New combo therapy aims to boost lung cancer fight before and after surgery

NCT ID NCT02572843

Summary

This study tested if adding a newer immunotherapy drug (MEDI4736) to standard chemotherapy could better control a specific type of lung cancer (stage IIIA). The treatment was given both before surgery (to shrink the tumor) and after surgery (to prevent it from coming back). The goal was to see if this combination was effective and safe for 68 patients with this operable lung cancer.
