New radiation technique aims to shield healthy lungs, reduce damage
NCT ID NCT07339644
Summary
This study is testing a new way to plan radiation therapy for lung cancer. It uses a special scan to map which parts of the lung are healthiest, then aims to steer radiation away from those areas while still treating the tumor. The goal is to reduce lung damage and breathing problems caused by the radiation itself. Researchers will compare this new method to standard radiation planning in 100 patients.
