Can a PET scan predict lung cancer treatment success after just one dose?

NCT ID NCT03832348

First seen Jan 06, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at 40 people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer whose tumors have high PD-L1 levels. They received the immunotherapy drug pembrolizumab, and researchers used PET scans after the first dose to see if early changes in tumor activity could predict whether the treatment would work after 3 months. The goal was to learn how tumors respond early on, not to test a new treatment.
