Could a lower dose of a common drug fight pneumonia with fewer side effects?
NCT ID NCT04851015
Summary
This study is testing if a lower dose of the standard antibiotic treatment for Pneumocystis pneumonia (PCP) works as well as the current higher dose but causes fewer serious side effects. It will enroll over 400 immunocompromised adults with PCP. The goal is to find a safer, equally effective treatment option for this serious infection.
