Scientists probe mysterious bleeding in rare genetic disorder

NCT ID NCT01314560

Summary

This study aimed to understand why people with Lowe syndrome, a rare genetic disorder, experience unusual bleeding problems. Researchers compared blood samples from 15 patients with Lowe syndrome to 15 healthy individuals to test how well their platelets (blood cells that help with clotting) work. The goal was to identify the specific clotting issue to help doctors better prepare for surgeries and improve patient safety.
