First seen Feb 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether replacing breakfast with a low glycemic index shake can improve blood sugar control in overweight and obese adults without diabetes. Forty-six participants ate either the shake or a bowl of oat cereal for breakfast over two weeks. Researchers measured blood sugar and insulin responses after meals and during a glucose challenge test to see if the shake made a difference.
