First seen Apr 22, 2026 · Last updated Apr 24, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study tests whether giving a low-dose norepinephrine infusion just before anesthesia can prevent low blood pressure during emergency surgery for peritonitis (a severe belly infection). About 60 adults with stable blood pressure after initial treatment will receive either the drug or a placebo. The goal is to see if this approach reduces time spent with dangerously low blood pressure during the start of surgery.
