First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 15, 2026 · Updated 36 times

Summary

This study tested whether a low dose of IL-2, a protein that helps calm the immune system, could reduce nasal symptoms in people with birch pollen allergy. Twenty-four adults with a history of seasonal hay fever received either the drug or a placebo and were then exposed to birch pollen in a controlled chamber. The main goal was to see if the treatment eased nasal congestion during exposure.
