Creatine clue: low levels may signal longer ventilator dependence

NCT ID NCT07177183

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a low level of creatinine (a waste product in the blood) can predict if a critically ill patient will need a breathing machine for a long time. Researchers will also test if giving a creatine supplement can help patients breathe on their own sooner. About 492 adults in post-ICU care will take part.
