NCT ID NCT06953479

First seen Mar 01, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tests whether a low-barrier hepatitis C treatment program can help people in jail start and finish their medication. Forty adults awaiting trial at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections will receive a 12-week course of the HCV drug Epclusa. If released early, they take the remaining doses home with support from community health workers. The goal is to cure their hepatitis C and see if this approach could be used in other jails.
