NCT ID NCT06953479

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a low-barrier hepatitis C treatment program can help people in jail start and finish their medication more easily. Forty adults awaiting trial at the Rhode Island Department of Corrections will receive a 12-week course of the antiviral drug Epclusa. If released early, they take the remaining pills with them and get support from community health workers. The goal is to cure their hepatitis C and see if this approach could be used in other jails.
