Heart drug trial offers hope for sickle cell patients

Summary
This study is testing whether losartan, a blood pressure medication, can reduce or stabilize heart scarring in people with sickle cell disease. Researchers will follow 24 patients aged 6 and older for one year to see if the drug is safe and effective. The goal is to prevent heart damage that can develop as a complication of sickle cell disease.
