Summary

This study tested whether adding the drug lorcaserin to existing medications could better control convulsive seizures in people with Dravet syndrome, a rare and severe form of childhood epilepsy. It was a Phase 3 trial that enrolled 22 participants, comparing lorcaserin to a placebo (inactive pill) to see which was more effective at reducing seizure frequency. The trial was terminated early, and its main goal was to see if lorcaserin led to a greater percentage reduction in seizures over a 14-week period.
