10-Year study tests if a simple dental fix can end jaw pain for good

NCT ID NCT07445516

First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study follows up on people who received a dental adjustment called POOE (or a fake procedure) for chronic jaw pain (TMD) over 10 years later. Researchers want to see if the real treatment still provides meaningful pain relief compared to the sham. About 110 adults aged 18-85 who had significant jaw pain and were treated at a university clinic will be evaluated.
