Swiss study checks on burn patients decades after pioneering Lab-Grown skin

NCT ID NCT07415577

Summary

This study aims to understand the long-term results of using a patient's own skin cells, grown in a lab, to treat severe burns. Researchers will invite up to 236 Swiss patients who received these grafts between 1985 and 2023 for a check-up. They will compare the healed grafted skin to healthy skin using photos, measurements, and optional small biopsies to see how well it has held up over time.
