40 years of Lab-Grown skin: how do burn scars hold up?

NCT ID NCT07415577

First seen Feb 18, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study looks at the long-term quality of scars in people who received lab-grown skin grafts (CEA or CDEA) for severe burns between 1985 and 2023. About 236 participants from three Swiss burn centers will have their scars measured with non-invasive tools and optional small skin biopsies. The goal is to understand how well these grafts heal over decades, not to test a new treatment.
