NCT ID NCT05844449
First seen Jun 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This phase 3 study tests the long-term safety and effectiveness of a triple combination drug (vanzacaftor/tezacaftor/deutivacaftor) in 174 people with cystic fibrosis aged 1 and older. Participants who completed a prior study will receive the drug to see if it helps control symptoms and improve lung function over time.
What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
- Active substance
- Vanzacaftor/tezacaftor/deutivacaftor (triple combination therapy)
- What this could lead to
- If successful, this could provide a long-term treatment option to help control cystic fibrosis symptoms and improve lung function.
- What could go wrong
- This is an open-label extension study, so results may be less reliable than blinded trials. Side effects or lack of sustained benefit are possible.
