Crowns under the microscope: 8-Year study reveals gum changes
NCT ID NCT07500636
First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 7 times
Summary
This study looked at 32 people who received a single metal-ceramic crown to see if it caused gum problems over time. Researchers compared the gums around the crown to the natural tooth on the opposite side of the mouth. They measured plaque, bleeding, pocket depth, and gum recession at 3 months and again after 8 years, using routine dental exams.
