New drug trial aims to free patients from IV nutrition dependence

NCT ID NCT03905707

Summary

This study is testing the long-term safety and effectiveness of a drug called glepaglutide for people with short bowel syndrome. The trial involves 145 patients who previously participated in related studies, following them to see if the treatment continues to help reduce their need for intravenous nutrition and fluids. Researchers are measuring whether patients can decrease or even stop their parenteral support while monitoring for any side effects over time.
