Summary
This study followed up with 152 people on Reunion Island 15 years after they were infected during a major Chikungunya outbreak. The goal was to understand the long-term joint pain and swelling many people experience after this viral illness. Researchers performed detailed rheumatology exams to classify the types of ongoing joint diseases and identify factors linked to persistent symptoms.
