First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study looked at the long-term safety and effectiveness of a drug called brivaracetam in 84 children and young adults (ages 2 to 26) with childhood or juvenile absence epilepsy. Absence epilepsy causes brief, staring spells. The goal was to see if the drug is safe to take over a long period and if it helps control seizures. Participants were already in a previous study and continued taking brivaracetam, with researchers tracking side effects and how well the drug worked.
