Summary
This study looked at whether the liquid used to keep dialysis catheters open (heparin or citrate) leaks into the bloodstream. 76 adults with acute kidney failure were checked before and after the lock was injected. The goal was to see if leakage affects bleeding risk or calcium levels, which could be dangerous for these patients.
