First seen Jun 05, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving children a local anesthetic (numbing medicine) before they wake up from dental surgery under general anesthesia can reduce confusion and pain. Eighty children aged 7 to 12 will be randomly assigned to receive either the numbing medicine or none. Researchers will measure how confused and restless the children are during the first 30 minutes after surgery, as well as their pain and overall recovery quality.
