First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 25 times

Summary

This pilot study looked at whether it is practical to give a blood thinner (low molecular weight heparin) to women after a cesarean delivery, compared to no treatment. The goal was to see if enough women would join and stay in the study. 64 women who had a C-section at the University of Utah Health took part. The study did not aim to prove the drug works, but to see if a larger trial is possible.
