First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated Jun 14, 2026 · Updated 9 times

Summary

This study tested whether applying Lugol's iodine during a standard cervical surgery (LLETZ) helps doctors remove all precancerous cells. 230 women with cervical dysplasia took part. The goal was to see if the iodine stain, which highlights healthy tissue, lowers the chance of leaving any diseased tissue behind.
