New drug combo tested to ease agony after major transplant

NCT ID NCT06868589

Summary

This study is testing if giving the drugs methadone and ketamine during a liver transplant from a deceased donor can help reduce pain and mental confusion after the surgery. Researchers will compare this combination to the standard pain medications currently used. The goal is to see if this approach leads to less pain, uses fewer opioids, and results in a smoother recovery for patients.
