Gender mismatch in liver transplants: does it affect survival?

NCT ID NCT07250919

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to understand whether differences in gender between liver donors and recipients affect how well patients do after transplant surgery. Researchers examined data from over 1,100 adult liver transplant patients over 10 years, comparing those with gender-matched donors to those with gender-mismatched donors. The goal was to identify factors that might influence patient and transplant survival rates to help improve future transplant outcomes.
