Major study probes hidden danger for liver transplant patients

NCT ID NCT06513780

Summary

This study aims to understand how a blood clot in the portal vein (a major liver blood vessel) affects a patient's recovery and long-term health after a liver transplant. Researchers will observe and compare data from 700 transplant patients, some with the clot and some without. The goal is to identify risk factors, predict who might develop the clot, and clarify its impact on survival and complications.
