AI analyzes old scans to prevent liver damage from radiation

NCT ID NCT07346573

First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 15 times

Summary

This study looked back at medical records and CT scans from 274 people who had radiation therapy for liver cancer. The goal was to find the exact radiation dose that causes a visible change on follow-up scans, called a Focal Liver Reaction (FLR). By comparing patients who had this reaction with those who did not, researchers hope to identify safer dose limits and factors that make some people more sensitive to radiation. No new treatments or procedures were given—only existing data was analyzed.
