New drug duo aims to shrink tumors before liver surgery

NCT ID NCT03844750

Summary

This study tested whether giving two drugs—pembrolizumab and vactosertib—before and optionally after surgery could help people with colorectal cancer that has spread to the liver. The goal was to see if this combination could shrink the liver tumors before they were removed and potentially lower the chance of the cancer coming back. The trial was small and ended early.
