Targeted liver chemo tested in fight against spreading colon cancer
NCT ID NCT04701281
Summary
This study tested a new way to deliver chemotherapy directly to the liver in people whose colon cancer had spread there. Doctors used a special implanted device to temporarily isolate blood flow to the liver and deliver a high dose of chemo to the tumors. The goal was to see if this targeted approach was more effective and had fewer side effects than standard chemotherapy given through a vein.
