Placenta-Based injection trial seeks to tame liver disease

NCT ID NCT06493799

Summary

This study is testing if giving a medication called LAENNEC through an IV drip works as well or better than the usual shot under the skin for people with chronic liver disease. About 226 adults with alcoholic or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease will receive one of the two methods twice a week for 6 weeks. The main goal is to see which method is better at lowering a key liver enzyme (ALT) and improving fatigue.
