Scientists hunt genetic clues to mysterious liver disease in island populations

NCT ID NCT07330830

Summary

This study aims to understand why some people develop more severe fatty liver disease by looking at a specific gene (PNPLA3) in 600 adults from French overseas territories like Guadeloupe. Researchers will collect blood samples to analyze the gene and see how it relates to the stage of liver disease. The goal is to learn if genetic differences help explain disease patterns in this specific population.
