Liver-Focused chemo trial halted after only 5 patients
NCT ID NCT04701281
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 22 times
Summary
This study tested a way to deliver strong chemotherapy directly to liver tumors that spread from colorectal cancer, using special balloons to isolate the liver's blood flow. Only 5 adults with stable or worsening liver tumors took part. The trial was stopped early, so we don't have clear results on whether this approach works better than standard chemo.
