New hope for advanced liver cancer patients with shunts

NCT ID NCT07322848

Summary

This study compares two methods of delivering chemotherapy directly to liver tumors in patients with advanced liver cancer who have previously had a TIPS shunt placed to manage complications of liver disease. Researchers want to see if using special drug-coated beads (DEB-TACE) helps patients live longer and causes fewer side effects than the conventional method (cTACE). The trial will enroll 206 participants who will be randomly assigned to receive one of the two treatments and followed for up to two years.
